  • 2 lbs lamb shoulder
  • 1 large onion
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger
  • 14 oz can diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup water or lamb stock
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

Instructions

  1. Chop the onion and mince the garlic and ginger.
  2. In a slow cooker, mix chopped onion, minced garlic, grated ginger, diced tomatoes, and tomato paste.
  3. Add lamb chunks along with ground spices and salt/pepper; pour in water or lamb stock.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours until tender.
  5. For naan: Combine flour and baking powder; gradually add water to form a dough. Roll out into flat circles.
  6. Cook naan on a skillet over medium-high heat until golden brown on both sides.
  7. Serve hot curry garnished with fresh cilantro alongside warm garlic naan.
