  • 3 ripe bananas (mashed)
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons caramel syrup
  • 1/2 cup butter (melted and cooled)
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk
  • 2 eggs (beaten)
  • Sea salt and caramel sauce for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together flour, white sugar, brown sugar, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. In another bowl, combine mashed bananas, melted butter, buttermilk, beaten eggs, vanilla extract, and caramel syrup until just mixed.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture. Stir until smooth; do not overmix.
  5. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Drizzle with two tablespoons of caramel sauce and swirl gently before adding the remaining batter on top.
  6. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center.
  7. Let cool in the pan for 15 minutes before sprinkling sea salt and drizzling with additional caramel sauce.
