  • 11 oz soft caramels or caramel bits
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time followed by vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.

  7. Press two-thirds of the dough into the prepared pan evenly.
  8. Melt caramels with heavy cream in the microwave until smooth; pour over the dough layer.
