  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup Heath toffee bits (with chocolate)

Instructions

  1. Brown the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat until golden and nutty. Transfer to a bowl, mix in espresso powder, and refrigerate until firm (1-2 hours).
  2. Beat the chilled browned butter with both sugars using a stand mixer until light and fluffy (3-4 minutes).
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  4. Incorporate baking powder, baking soda, salt, and flour on low speed until combined.
  5. Fold in toffee bits.
  6. Scoop dough into balls, chill for several hours or up to 24 hours.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place dough balls on parchment-lined sheets, sprinkle with sea salt, and bake for 11-13 minutes until edges are golden.
  8. Cool slightly on the sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
