Ingredients

Scale
  • lb Brussels sprouts (trimmed and halved)
  • 1 tbsp kosher salt (plus more to taste)
  • 4 strips turkey bacon (diced into ½" lardons)
  • ½ c pecans (coarsely chopped)
  • 1 tsp ground mustard
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup
  • Ground pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Blanch the Brussels sprouts in boiling salted water for 4-5 minutes until tender but bright green. Drain and cool under cold water, then dry.
  2. Cook diced turkey bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crisp, about 7-8 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté blanched Brussels sprouts and pecans over medium-high heat until crispy, about 4-5 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle ground mustard over the mixture and deglaze with apple cider vinegar, scraping up brown bits for flavor (2-3 minutes).
  5. Return turkey bacon to the skillet, add maple syrup, and toss everything together for another minute until slightly thickened. Season with salt and pepper before serving.
